Thanks to James for sending in this Sun interview with the voice of Mario & Co., Charles Martinet. You MUST download the audio chat here, its fun! We’ve taken out a few choice quotes where he discusses Super Mario Galaxy on Wii.

Recently Charles has been hard at work putting the finishing touches to the eagerly-anticipated Mario Galaxy, the first of the plumber’s adventures on the Nintendo Wii using its motion-sensing controller.

“Mario Galaxy is going to be the most exciting, amazing fun ever,” he enthuses, and continues: “I played a little preview of it and I had goosebumps of joy and was giddy with laughter.”

“The new Wii controller has so much versatility and makes possible all these things you could never imagine doing before. It is like magic. This game takes it to a completely different level for Mario.”

He finished with: “I’m not allowed to reveal yet what I say in Galaxy but I can tell you there will be some new surprises and great fun things.” What could this be? Maybe Mario will have full dialogue for the first time? That’d be amazing!

Chris, I’ve been looking myself and the tunes sound like remixed Super Mario World music. If you click that link, it’ll take you to ocremix.org. I doubt the Sun remixed these themselves. I haven’t found the interlude tunes yet as there are a dozen songs on-site.

Charles Martinet is a great guy.. I’ve seen many interviews of that guy… he’s always cheerful and in a nice mood
