Codemasters finally replacing faulty Bubble Bobble Revolution DS cartridges

The bug is now fixed in Bubble Bobble Revolution for DSYou might remember our October 17 report last year on Taito’s Bubble Bobble Revolution game for Nintendo DS (only in America) that had a game-halting bug of which we showed a video. Of course if you bought the game you’ll remember for sure, because in the big boss battle in level 30 the boss never appears and your game effectively ends.

Developer Codemasters apologized and promised fixed new games for all owners within 10 weeks, because they had to be manufactured new. That was around Christmas 2006, now another 7 weeks after that Codemasters Customer Services sent out this email to people who emailed them about the bug:

“We are pleased to say that we expect to be sending out replacement cartridges, that rectify this fault, from February 23 onwards. We would, however, also like to apologize for the length of time that this process has taken. — In order to get a head start on replacing the game we are emailing you now with instructions on the replacement process. Firstly, we need you to return your existing faulty version, so that we can remove it from circulation. To enable you to do this, we will send you a reply paid envelope.”
