Ubisoft announced that Driver: Parallel Lines will be released on Nintendo’s Wii as well as the PC via Games for Windows. The release date is set for March 30th in the US & Europe.

Driver Parallel Lines for PS2Parallel Lines is the fourth title in the popular Driver series, this time set in the New York city of 1978 & 2006. Although Parallel Lines is a port of an existing PS2 game, Wii owners will be treated to adjusted controls that utilize the console’s motion sensing Wii Remote controller. No additional gameplay modes were announced, but you will be able to go through 35 missions with over 80 vehicles to control.

After the under whelming performance of Atari’s Driv3r, Gamersquad mentions that Ubisoft shows a switch back to the game’s roots with more emphasis on driving and less on what turned out to be some very awkward shooting elements. While the PS2 version didn’t receive rave reviews, hopefully the time in-between has given the developer chance to iron out some of the game’s faults, particularly the unresponsive controls. If not, you can always try Driver 76 on PSP.
