Ubisoft lists new E3 games including 1 mystery game

Tom Clancy\'s Splinter Cell Double AgentToday Ubisoft announced its lineup of titles, including a new Rayman & Rainbow Six, for the 2006 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) May 10–12, 2006 at the Los Angeles (USA) Convention Center. Ubisoft lineup info:

James Bond goes from EA to Activision

PS2 James Bond 007: From Russia with LoveActivision has obtained worldwide exclusivity rights to develop and publish games featuring the 007 British intelligence operative for PC, consoles, and handhelds until 2014! EA originally had secured the rights to the Bond franchise for 6 years, from 2003 to 2009.

EA said that they decided to conclude their agreement with MGM, who produce James BOnd, which originally was set to expire in 2009, in an attempt to diversify their portfolio with more original Intellectual Properties like Spore and Project Grey Company.

The next James Bond movie (Casino Royale trailer here) is coming to theaters November 17. So expect a game at that time. EA’s last James Bond game, while featuring the awesome likeness & voice of Sean Connery, only got a rating of 69% on gamerankings.com. So let’s hope Activision do a better job.

Diablo 3 announcement coming soon or not?

Diablo Battle ChestDiablo.es and diablo.de were recently registered by Blizzard Entertainment and link back to the official page for now. Fans of the Diablo 1 & 2 games on PC will want to keep an eye out for an announcement on either E3 in May or a little later in the year at Blizzcon in October.

Unfortunately IGN just mentioned Blizzard has no plans to show Diablo 3 at the E3 conference. The developer is focusing all of their energy towards promotion of the first World of Warcraft expansion, The Burning Crusade, and will save any announcements they may or may not have planned for a later date.

New GameCube Player’s Choice titles added

The Legend of Zelda:  Four SwordsNintendo has just announced that several new games have been added to their Player’s Choice library. Those games include: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Pikmin 2, StarFox Assault and The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures. These games are now available for $19.99, so you have no excuse not to pick them up.

Full Auto 2: Battlelines announced for PS3

XB360 Full AutoSega announced the PlayStation 3 exclusive Full Auto 2: Battlelines. The game will bring high-speed autos, decked out with weapons and armor, into urban street environments. The combat racing game also includes a new Arena Mode that has team play and six different levels.

“The destructible environments in Full Auto 2: Battlelines are both stunning and strategic, especially in multiplayer combat,” said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing from Sega of America, he continued:

Kingdom Hearts II sells 1 million in 1 month

PS2 Kingdom Hearts 2Square Enix has announced the recently released Kingdom Hearts II, a Playstation 2 exclusive, has broken the 1 million sales barrier.

NPD Group sales numbers indicate the original game sold more than 2.6 million in North America, and having already sold 1 million units in just over a month (in one third the time of the first game) means Kingdom Hearts II is doing well for itself.

Pilotwings coming to Wii?

PilotWings 641UP’s editor Sam Kennedy speaks up about the Nintendo Wii on his blog and slips in a new tidbit: “There will be some games that really show the universal appeal of the (Wii) console. Friends of mine tell me Pilotwings is absolutely perfect – it’s something anyone can pick up and enjoy. Nintendo’s changing all of the rules – they’ve created an experience anyone can enjoy. They’ve created a system for everyone.”

We’ll know for sure in less than a week at E3.

Sega announces Sonic Rivals for PSP

Sonic Rivals for PSPSonic Rivals is the name of Sonic’s first Sony handheld outing. In Sonic Rivals, you can control any of four characters, each with a different unfolding storyline including Sonic and Knuckles, racing against other players, plus rivals like the evil Shadow.

The game also makes use of an extensive rewards system, based on collecting trading cards, allowing players to customise their favourite characters. So when you play wirelessly against mates, you can put trading cards on the line for even more multiplayer challenges.

Project Gotham Racing goes Mobile

Project Gotham Racing 2Glu Mobile and Microsoft are bringing the “Project Gotham Racing Mobile Edition” racer from Xbox (360) to your cellphone.

While it is not yet known what carriers will have access to the game, you can expect it sometime early 2007.
