PaRappa The Rapper re-release from PSone to PSP

PaRappa The Rapper for PSP on Amazon.co.jpThe original PaRappa The Rapper, the famous PSone game from 10 years ago, is getting a re-release on the PSP. In Japan the music game has a December 7th, 2006, release date with no foreign dates announced (if any). But the game is in English and the PSP is region free, so even if it stays in Japan, you’ll be able to import it at a price of 3,980 Yen which is about $34 / €25 / £17 (cheaper on Amazon Japan).

But this isn’t just remake of the classic beat-breaking game with the plucky rapping hero Parappa. This PSP game features bonus wireless multiplayer (1-4 players) and a Game Sharing demo to spread the party around.

In an interview with Rodney Greenblat, illustrator and visual designer of PaRappa The Rapper, Dengeki Online did, he was asked if he designed the visuals of the game with a Japanese audience in mind. His answer: “No, because the game was made completely in English. Even Matsuura-san (the game’s director) wanted to do it in English”. Regarding the PSP, he said “I think Parappa really suits a personal machine like the PSP. Please show Parappa to your friends or kids that don’t know about it yet.” Translation from Japanese via Pocketgamer.
