Fallout MMORPG starts development in 2007 for 2010 release

Fallout 1 / Fallout 2 Bundle (Jewel Case)A SEC Filing by developer Interplay gives firm indications of plans for a Fallout MMORPG. To quote:

“The Fallout MMOG will be developed in the highly recognized Fallout post Nuclear Apocalyptic world giving consumers an ongoing virtual experience of today’s life as if the cold war, which lasted for the best part of the second half of last century, had led to a nuclear disaster.”

The document describes a project with a $75 million dollar budget due in 2010, with projecting that it would enough revenue to be profitable by year two. Bluesnews mentions they thought Interplay was dead, not surprising with no new releases in three years, but the document says production starts in January 2007.

    Omg if the interplay are smart ..FALLOUT MMORPG WILL keel world of warcraft ..im playn world of warcraft atm ..but a fine made Fallout will rull.

    Jesus mate, could you at least use comprehensible English and spelling?

    But yes, a Fallout MMORPG has alot of potential, provided Interplay doesn’t royally screw it up.

    Don’t pull punches, don’t be nice, keep it dark, gritty, and adult, and you’ll do well.

    Fallout is the best rpg ever i spent almost a year on the first game i hope they dont screw this up

    Fallout 3 is not even out til the end of October so how the hell would you know how it plays. Watching video clip of a game gives no real feel for how a game is going to turn out and that is all i have seen of fallout 3 so far. From what i have seen from the clips the game looks and feels much like the first 2 games but in a 3d Environment. I am getting it for sure. They are still doing last minute tweaks to the game before release. I have been waiting for a fallout MMO for years and if they do good job it will be a great game. By 2010 wow will be a thing of the past since it will be over 6 years old by then.

    Oh, no. look, I love the fallout series, but experience has taught me one thing: When something makes money, they don’t change it. I can see it now: you are gonna start in a vault or village after picking your race and class because they have dumped SPECIAL and the ******* with an “!” over his head will tell you to go out, kill 10 rats/dogs/deathclaws, which will involve clicking on the enemy once and watching your guy shoot at him. you cut off some body parts, bring it back for some money and a new gun/armor. WASH RINSE REPEAT

    Interplay, please prove me wrong.

    lol Fallout 3 looks wicked man! I can’t wait to kick some *ss in that game. FCK the first and second ones
