New Zelda 2 coming to Wii in 2008? Zelda Phantom Hourglass on DS delayed to October 15th 2007

Game Informer magazine issue 165 states the next Zelda Wii has already been under development for about a year and while it’s highly unlikely that Nintendo would release two Zelda games a year apart, they expect the second Zelda Wii will arrive sooner rather than later. End 2008?

As for the much anticipated cel-shaded The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the Nintendo DS (which continues from the GameCube’s Zelda: Wind Waker). At GDC 2006, it was revealed and Iwata hinted it would be out by the end of this year. However, at E3 2006 it became apparent this wouldn’t be the case, and The Hylia confirmed a delay to 2007 after speaking with Nintendo at San Diego Comic Con in July.

Game Informer is reporting that Zelda: Phantom Hourglass has not just been pushed back to “early 2007″ as previously reported, but all the way to October 15th, 2007. If so, that means the first DS Zelda adventure will be out next Holiday season. We’ve also heard rumors the game is getting a major reworking since E3 2006 - as nothing new has been shown for the title since that time.

But hourglass coming right one day before GTA IV?? cant wait to see if it is true.

IF a new zelda is brought ouut it should be the sequal of LOZ TP
IT SHOULD NOT BE SET IN HYRYLE BUT SOME WHERE NEW WHERE LINKS GOES AND ENDS UP FINDING TROUBLE
sHOULD BE BASED AORUND THE THREE ORACLES N ZELDA N RIEN TRODUCING CHARACTERS FROM THE GAME BOY CHARACTER FROM THE ORACLE GAMES AND THAT WIZARD GUY

I agree; the new Zelda should not involve neither Ganon, nor Hyrule; moreover, it should try to set a timeline; I think that the legend of zelda series does not really have a timeline because it was not the original intention of the producers, if they say there is one then they lie; they just make the games as if they were new; therefore, this game would be the oportunity to take care of these debates. Vaati should be the bad guy in this one.

i thing the next zelda should keep being with ganon…he’s the principal bad guy, i am a fan of zelda and to tell you the truth…the best one they made is the one on the super nintendo…link to the past, follow by zelda, ocarina of time. zelda twilight zone was awsome but, to easy, but it had a good storyline. I got a question for you guys, its been a while im thinking about it, they should come out with a movie of zelda! that would be awsome! whatever…ganon and hyrule rocks…they should keep the game based on it…

Charly check out http://www.legendofzeldaseries.com there’s a lot of information of an independent Zelda film being done based on Ocarina of Time, to tell you the truth it doesn’t look very good but there’s your answer. I would love to see one ala Lord of the Rings wouldn’t you?
Anyway I agree that Ganon is the main evil in the zelda games but Zelda games need a little bit of change, Twilight princess was too too too easy and very similar to Ocarina of Time, I give credit to Wind Waker for originality, I don’t like Vaati either but it’s the only other common evil guy in the series… how about this… defeat Gannon the use him as your ally to defeat a greater evil… just a thought…

If a zleda game is in development i hope it wont be based on Ganon or Ganondorf but a new evil character or one from the past zelda games like agaphim the wizard, vaati and general onox all three which are involved in one big plot and hyryle should not be the only kingdom likke allowing you to travel out of hyryle and into new worlds would be awsome, and an introduciton of enw races would be good also

i think the next zelda game should make sure that starting form the beginning of the game the bosses are all challenging and long and there needs to be more than just 9 bosses for each game like in the past but for example 15 bosses just an idea just to make the game really long and enjoyable

To the last comment by Andrew. I completly agree with making the zelda games longer. I love all these games (except the old gameboy ones, drove me insane and didnt like the paper graphics). I saw a comment before clicking a link to get to this page on google. A zelda movie? Uh…No.. Look up the old Zelda shows on Youtube.com. Its REALLY bad omg. I think a movie would be the death of alot of fans. Then again they ARE getting better at these things…not really…. the RE movies and silent hill movies…. They completly destroyed the game story lines. I havent heard ANYTHING about an RE 3 movie either since it got such bad reviews and fans of the series thought it to be a big disapointment.

I have heard that the new Zelda for the Wii will be the beginning in the serie. You will see the three golden gods creat Hyrule in NOW time, not past and follow the absolutly first Link in the first Hyrule. Zelda: TT was for Gamecube and this is just for Wii. It has to be a fantastic game!
