New WarioWare: Smooth Moves gaming minigames video

If you don’t want to know what gaming-related minigames you’ll get to play in WarioWare: Smooth Moves on the Nintendo Wii, then don’t look at the video nor read any further, as the ones I spotted are listed below the new gameplay footage. Looks really fun!

The release date in the Americas & Europe is January 15th, 2007.

List of spotted Nintendo games that are some of the 200 lightning-quick microgames: Super Mario Bros with Wiimote, Nintendogs, Animal Crossing, Pong, Balloon Fight, Wii Music, Metroid Prime, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Game & Watch Octopus, Super Mario Sunshine, Punch Out!, and a brilliant Start Fox boss battle! Then it continues with Pikmin and Zelda: Wind Waker until the player goes game over.

Looks good. Not sure it’ll be the killer app – I’ll hold off until I play it.

Some of those games needed accurate pointing on the screen, and if you’ve played Wii you know how hard it can be to find that little spot where the remote is lined up just right to get the cursor on the screen, especially if you are jumping around in other games and getting yourself off-centre. The Wii works much better where you don’t have to be so accurate.

It looks like a nice combination of the Nintendo titles (metroid, octopus, zelda, mario), but whether or not the mini games are decent sized levels or just small mini games that use the characters as a sales technique will have to wait until we see a demo that isn’t a sales pitch.
I wonder if they have other Game&Watch titles in there.
As usual the graphics are a bit sub par. I’m sure the Wii can do better.
