Red SteelUbisoft has a job posting on their France website, which asks for a Senior Game Designer who will take part in “the continuation of the Red Steel Project”. Interestingly enough, the job posting asks for “RPG experience”.

Codenamerevolution reports a trademark was also made by Ubisoft in the United States of a game called “Fighting Steel”. Of course the name could be anything, but it’s great to know that if a sequel is on its way. Nice to see Ubisoft is planning the next (likely Wii exclusive) Red Steel.

    WOOT!!!

Red Steel (despite what many people are saying) is in my opinion a really great game.
OK so the sword fighting isn’t 1:1 control but it is very arcade like. It reminds me of Police 911 and Time Crisis except you’re not on rails. The graphics would look better at a higher resolution indeed, but for a launch title that the developers only had a short time with the actual dev kit to make it came out looking quite good.
Oh and did anyone think that maybe they aren’t talking about RS2 but rather maybe updating and patching the current RS and making use of the Wiis online capabilities?
Either way, I’m glad they aren’t ditching the game altogether after the mediocre acclaim.
