Dead or Alive 5 announced at the series 10-year anniversary

Dead or Alive 4Tomonobu Itagaki of team Ninja officially announced Dead or Alive 5 today. The developer at Team Ninja (of Tecmo) said this at a press meeting in Tokyo (Japan) that celebrated the 10th birthday of the series.

Mr. Itagaki already has the first play concepts in mind, one of which is that the fifth game in the fighting series will probably no longer feature Tag Team Battles. While no platform was mentioned, the Xbox 360 will surely see its (exclusive?) release, because Mr. Itagaki has in the past often expressed his fondness of Microsoft’s console. No release date was mentioned. Via Gamefront

I want it to be on X-box360! PS3s are too expinsive and they are really HARD to get! and 360 looks as real as PS3 does! I think he will go with the 360. because more peaple have that. That sucks that he uses the realest think in town. how about he just makes the game for both!

i love the DOA series. ive played it since DOA3 and ive loved it ever since. i have both DOAX-treme vollyball games. and whoever thinks its coming to the ps3 its sadly mistaken. namco and team ninja would never put a very successful game thats been on the xbox since DOA3(big success) and i dont think they want to risk it by changing the system.

    so hahahahahaha!…ps3 owners!

I like the serie doa, but…they need to improve the grafics to be more realistic, we are talking about xbox 360, in this doa 5 i expect they do a 3d game like…shenmue yeh!!! its totally different from the predecessors doa 3 and 4, and each character with each row and storyline and most, or all characters connected.

If you’re expecting a full adventure style gameplay similar to Shenmue, than I’m sorry, but Not even Tecmo’s developers are gonna put THAT much time and effort into the game.

Graphics maybe, but the story’s never gonna be THAT massive for a DOA game. Shenmue ended up being way more gargantuan than Sega/AM2 had the budget for. Which sucks for those of us who liked the Shenmue series…

But personally, I’m fine with the look of the graphics. If they improve it, great! If not, they’d better keep the solid fighting mechanics flowing. That’s all I really care about… even if there’s no more Tag teaming. D*mn.

thats right doa 5 is going to be on the ps3 sony started with it and is going to end with it also so stop being greedy microsoft and let us have it to then we can be even oh thats right we will never be even because microsoft didn’t make it for sony after the seconed game we sony fans are sick and tired of doa games for the 360 and not on the ps3 STOP BEING GREEDY MICROSOFT AND LET US HAVE A FAIR FIGHT PS3 RULES SUCK 360

Actually Itagaki is a big xbox supporter, it’s true that he only sell his games to the most powerful console, for example ninja gaiden zigma, but he has also announced that he will only sell all of the dead alive series to xbox.

Dead or alive 5 should be an exclusive for xbox 360. It’s a killer game and bring people to the xbox community. Plus, if you look at previous dead or alives, they weren’t made for ps2 except for doa hardcore and EVERYONE knows how bad THAT was…
btw it would effect GREATLY if they took out the tag feature. I tag all the time. Thats all i do normally when i’m on doa online. So it’s not just a, “oh well, pass it up.” It’s a great feature. If anything they should try making the lag problem better when four people are connected.
