PS3 lines already forming in America

Nine days until Sony’s PlayStation 3 launches in America, and lines are already forming. A CAG forumer went to Best Buy this morning and saw about 7 people waiting outside. He went inside and one of the workers told him that they had been there since Monday. He immediately pondered: “Do these people have no lives?”

Of course the life of the waiting-in-line-for-almost-two-weeks PS3 fans isn’t made easier by a bunch of people coming to Best Buy and making funny remarks like: “I hope you guys brought enough food!” Another one said, “Where is the line for PS4? Is it on the other side?”


I wonder what life would be like if you had almost two weeks to just wait and do nothing. Do they take a holiday for this, or are they unemployed, at least the latter would make some sense, they could sell their PS3 on eBay. But these seem like PS3 fanboys, and die-hard ones at that. Hopefully for them they won’t be disappointed on November 17.


And because those lines aren’t that interesting, we’ll add the two latest PS3 commercials for your viewing pleasure.

What you gonna do connect it to Xbox Live? Because the Sony show is a know show; pitty that ain’t possible.

Anyway, some people seems to have very little in there lives, to line up for 2 months.

I wouldn’t buy the “first edition” of a console. There’s good thing about living in Europe: when we finally get the consoles you guys in US and Japan have already done the HW/SW debugging for us

has it occurred to anyone that some of the people waiting in line might be doing it at the behest of sony? anyone recall the whole scandal a few years back when sony employees posed as ordinary moviegoers so that their movies would get positive buzz from ‘ordinary people’ exiting screenings?

i wouldn’t put anything past a massive multinational nowadays. there’s no such thing as bad publicity.

The queues aren’t a sign of real demand, but a reflection of the fact that Sony has almost no units available for launch. Basically if you haven’t pre-ordered one you’re not getting one until later. With so many good games still to get through on the current generation I can wait a while for the next.
