PS3 lines already forming in America

Nine days until Sony’s PlayStation 3 launches in America, and lines are already forming. A CAG forumer went to Best Buy this morning and saw about 7 people waiting outside. He went inside and one of the workers told him that they had been there since Monday. He immediately pondered: “Do these people have no lives?”

Of course the life of the waiting-in-line-for-almost-two-weeks PS3 fans isn’t made easier by a bunch of people coming to Best Buy and making funny remarks like: “I hope you guys brought enough food!” Another one said, “Where is the line for PS4? Is it on the other side?”

I wonder what life would be like if you had almost two weeks to just wait and do nothing. Do they take a holiday for this, or are they unemployed, at least the latter would make some sense, they could sell their PS3 on eBay. But these seem like PS3 fanboys, and die-hard ones at that. Hopefully for them they won’t be disappointed on November 17.

I am not a huge fan, but the resale value is crazy. So sitting in line for 2 days (if possible) wouldn’t bother me.

Actually I saw that same picture on ps2-scene.org and later they posted a sign and made those people leave the bestbuy after calling the police on them

@ #123 you know what else sucks.. The fact sony pushed the PS3 back to next year for Aus. So not only are they ripping us of they are going to make us wait before they do it.
BTW I bought a First Gen PS2 console for the sole purpose of playing FFX and FFX-2 now all sold on ebay -_^.

The funny thing is – best buy is private property. If they wanted to, they could easily turn around the night before the release and say “go home or we are calling the cops”. Then all that waiting would be for nothing. So sad. The best buys around here have a no waiting for more than 24 hour policy, which should be the case. But like this thread said half way through, that photo was for a couple of guys waiting out for gears of war, which released that wed @5 I believe. I know that here where i work, if people start lining up today or earlier, they are going to be told to go home, and they have no right to stay on the premicis. They also have no right to the consoles when the doors open.
