Wii menu interface video has more secrets

We already covered last Sunday that the Wii will have one single friend code for all games! This was shown in the latest IGN Weekly episode. But there might be more unknown factors.

Recently there have been some rumors that Nintendo has another ace secret up their sleeve. Personally I feel these are the unknown Wii channels described in this here report on a game development Wii:

I guess we’ll find out for sure on November 19 what will be on those menu’s, or possibly after if those can be added to by Nintendo via their WiiConnect24 “Wii is always online” feature that might not just update, but upgrade as well?

The channels so far known are: Disc, Mii, Photo, Forecast, News, Shop, Internet, Message Board. Check out their full descriptions in this Wii channels list.

Aren’t the extra channel spaces meant for the virtual console games? There are a ton of slots to fill, but better to have too many, rather than too few.

Si, you’re partly right.
1. Yes there are dozens of spaces free to be filled with grouped Virtual Console games, but…
2. Nintendo announced there will be 12 channels, and so far only 8 are known, leaving 4 as a secret
