Metal Gear Solid 4 on Xbox 360?

The cover (click to enlarge) of December’s issue of EGM clearly says “Metal Gear Solid 4 on Xbox 360?”. Xboxic muses this could this be the final blow to the major exclusives PS3 has over the Xbox 360.

Che Chou, ex-1UP staffer and developer at Microsoft’s Forza 2 team, has this to say about it:

“It’s simply a rumor that Konami higher-ups are pressuring Kojima Productions to consider making MGS4 a multiplatform game because production costs on the game are unsurprisingly high and only getting higher. With PS3 install base numbers not looking all that rosy due to console cost and manufacturing problems, Konami is scared they can’t recoup their investment on only 1 platform alone.

It’s also a nice way to maybe blackmail Sony into giving Konami an incentive [$] to keeping the game a PS3 exclusive, in my opinion. Whatever the case, I highly doubt it’s going to happen so quit building yourself a disappointing kiloton bomb.” It’ll be an interesting 2007 if it goes multiplatform!

MGS4 is to good not to come on every game system. I mean i have a 360 but i had always loved MGS games.

i real y hop it comes for 360 its really worth it they will be making a lot more moneey because the ps3 is only at 88,000 and the 360 is an 10 mill

I reckon it would be wise for Hideo Kojima to just save everyone else the bother and realease MGS4 : GOTP on multiplatform. Tgis reason because it being a ps3 exclusive cause they will make no profit. And well i think Capcom and Rockstar have already figured that out for the Devil May Cry and GTA series. Also i think it would be pretty awesome to be able to actually play MGS4 in kinda a real VR on Wii. I believe that Hideo will end up dropping his pride and honour with Sony and come to Konami’s and the customers senses and MGS4 will hit 360 abd if possibly Wii. And i also believe that if MGS4 does hit 360 then ps3 will be completely demolished. Because specifically they’ve already suffered blows from Final Fantasy, GTA and DMC 4 hitting 360. So there will be no reason to absolutely buy a ps3.

So what does everyone on this blog make of Tekken actually being rumoured to hit xbox 360?
Because rumour has it there is a Tekken The movie on the way and the game adaprion will be multiplatform. Could this lead to Tekken no longer being a Sony exclusive?

Also i do agree with the comment left by comment 4. Gears of War for MGS4 it would be a fine deal.

People are talking about brotherliness, and being a bad decision… if anything it would be an extremely smart decision for Konami. They would make much much more money, even if Sony does pay them off, there simply isnt enough people out there with a ps3 for them to make as much if its not multiplatform. As to putting 360 games multiplatform… there’s no real point. Gears and Halo have and will make easily enough money to cover all their costs and thensome.

Put simply, 360 has the serious heads up when it comes to number of systems sold, by a long shot. Developers would be stupid and taking far too big a risk to make a game for a unpopular system assuming that people will buy the system just for that game

Metal Gear Solid 1 came to PC, Metal Gear Solid 2 came to the XBOX (Substance), but suddenly Kojima got stubborn and made Metal Gear Solid 3 but kept it exclusive to PS2 (Snake Eater and Subsistance!). So looking at the past, Microsoft did make MGS games for its systems. It’s just recently that Kojima became a Sony Nazi. Now that the only way he’s gonna see good income from MGS4 in the U.S. is to port to XBOX 360. Whats the big deal Kojima!? Why the hell not!?

PS I don’t think a Wii version would work. Keep the Wii a Party machine and everyone’s happy…

First off, if MGS4 comes out for the 360 they will have to downgrade it because there is noway the 360 can handle it at its current state. The ps3 is much more powerful than the 360, like it or not. This means that it will never come out for the wii becaues its graphics are barely better then the game cube. I agree though, I would love to see MGS4 come out for the 360. It is one of the world’s greatest games and should be more available to players. As great as viva pinata is, there is no way that it can compare to metal gear, sorry “I dont care”

Nope..

Metal Gear Solid 4 will only remains with PS3.
This is confirmed by this interview with Hideo Kojima himself. He explained that Crappy Box 360 is not a console that would be able to play the game features since Crappy Box 360 is way inferior comparing to PS3 in storage device as well as in processing technique and many other stuff that would overheat the console and you would have to get the 10th replacement from another Microsoft defective products.

What is wrong with the PS3 fanboys here? MGS4 360 would be the best idea! The PS3 sucks, we all know that, mainly because it was a bullcrap system, and the 360 would provide sales for MGS4.

Why are PS3 fanboys acting like these games are being deprived from them? You can still play them an PS3 for goodness’ sake!

You can have Gears of War. Its another way overrated Halo game. The only FPS that matters is Unreal Tournment 3.
