Metal Gear Solid 4 on Xbox 360?
The cover (click to enlarge) of December’s issue of EGM clearly says “Metal Gear Solid 4 on Xbox 360?”. Xboxic muses this could this be the final blow to the major exclusives PS3 has over the Xbox 360.
Che Chou, ex-1UP staffer and developer at Microsoft’s Forza 2 team, has this to say about it:
“It’s simply a rumor that Konami higher-ups are pressuring Kojima Productions to consider making MGS4 a multiplatform game because production costs on the game are unsurprisingly high and only getting higher. With PS3 install base numbers not looking all that rosy due to console cost and manufacturing problems, Konami is scared they can’t recoup their investment on only 1 platform alone.
It’s also a nice way to maybe blackmail Sony into giving Konami an incentive [$] to keeping the game a PS3 exclusive, in my opinion. Whatever the case, I highly doubt it’s going to happen so quit building yourself a disappointing kiloton bomb.” It’ll be an interesting 2007 if it goes multiplatform!

up until the release of the 360, i was a die-hard systemist for playstation. the cold fact to realise is that playstation is inferior. as with any great civilization, there has to be an end, and in playstation’s case, it comes in the form of 360. people are getting far to worked up about their factions and forgetting the point of videogaming, in that it’s for people’s enjoyment, not beating someone else’s games. case in point mgs4 should be released on 360, not because i have one, not because i’d be distraught without it, but because it’s the right thing to do. there’s no room for selfishness with something as unique and amazing as metal gear solid.

I believe that both the ps3 and xbox 360 are great systems and should each have the right to have exclusive games. However I don’t believe that mgs4 should be exclusive because it is just to great of a game for everyone not to experience it.
