The cover (click to enlarge) of December’s issue of EGM clearly says “Metal Gear Solid 4 on Xbox 360?”. Xboxic muses this could this be the final blow to the major exclusives PS3 has over the Xbox 360.
Che Chou, ex-1UP staffer and developer at Microsoft’s Forza 2 team, has this to say about it:
“It’s simply a rumor that Konami higher-ups are pressuring Kojima Productions to consider making MGS4 a multiplatform game because production costs on the game are unsurprisingly high and only getting higher. With PS3 install base numbers not looking all that rosy due to console cost and manufacturing problems, Konami is scared they can’t recoup their investment on only 1 platform alone.
It’s also a nice way to maybe blackmail Sony into giving Konami an incentive [$] to keeping the game a PS3 exclusive, in my opinion. Whatever the case, I highly doubt it’s going to happen so quit building yourself a disappointing kiloton bomb.” It’ll be an interesting 2007 if it goes multiplatform!
Now way!!!! There is not a single chance for MGS 4 to come to the X360! That would be a VERY VERY BAD decision!
And what kind of manufacture Defects is that guiy talking about?
And I definately thing that Statements like that in the covers. Made the mag the #1. Its definately going to be
” We asked our editors what they think of the possibilities of MGS 4 coming to X360…”
kind of nonsense
Yo wuddup. Im a die hard metal gear fan n im getting ps3 jus 4 that n 4 oblivin. I hope x box 360 dosnt take the best game on ps3 since they have all wack games. peace out.
All these people that are talking about not making MGS4 for 360 r just mad becuz they know it is one less game for the PS3 to brag about….Im not a fanboy of either system but I do own a 360 becuz the system is equal too if not better then the PS3 and it cost $200 less….360 is a better investment and Konami would be wise to go multiplatform in order to recoup the money spent on the project…and it would mos def help the 360 expand in Japan
and IF MGS 4 comes for 360 then Gears of war should come for PS3, that will show he BROTHERLY-ness of the consoles.
THe price is the ONLY thing that would make anyone think that PS3 is anything lesser than a 360, Knowing that there is ONE thing bad about the PS3(Price) every other thing which is NOT bad in it, will be however exaggerated to be BAD in it, only because people like to support their purchase. coz if they dont, they will have a feeling of wasting there money.
Well, thats basically the deifinition of console wars, but still, every system SHOULD have something exclusive coz if it wont, then what is the use of ANOTHER system. Just like Gears of war or even Halo coming to PS3 is strange for 360 OWNERS this MGS 4 news is strange for People planning on buying a PS3.
I believe that it is good to have an exclusive game to each system. Halo for xbox, mario and zelda for wii, and metal gear for playstation. Metal Gear Games have already came out for xbox (mgs substance) so it isn’t that bad if they release mgs4 to the 360. Especially if sony is going to be loosing money. I think they should swallow their pride and release it. I am going to be getting a 360, and I am a diehard fan of the mgs series, but I am not spending 200$ more for one game. It would benifit everyone if they released it for the 360.
dude if they gave up the exclusivty they will blow the whole ps3 aways cuz is the only game thats wortwhile on the ps3
that AND FFXIII
i hope it does come out for the 360,then the final fantasy games will be the only reason for me to buy a 360…which aint gonna be until at least 2008 anyway cos no console is worth more than 400 quid
sorry i meant ‘only reason for me to buy a PS3′
Don’t miss this point:
- Gears of war and halo are developed and/or published by microsoft, so they go to xbox360 (and pc/windows if microsoft wants to).
- Zelda and mario are developed and published by nintendo, so they go to nintendo systems.
- In the other hand, metal gear is developed and published by konami, and final fantasy is developed and published by squareenix. They aren’t stick to sony, and it will be a wise decision to go multiplatform with those games.
