Final Fantasy Chocobos versus World of Warcraft Blood Elf Mounts
World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade beta testers keep making new discoveries in the upcoming WoW expansion. It turns out the new Blood Elf Mounts look a suspicious lot like the Chocobos from the Final Fantasy series. Outside of Blizzard maybe getting sued by Square-Enix because both overgrown chickens share similarities, oh sorry you’re a fan, I meant to say both noble animal look alike. Well, outside of that tidbit, which do you think looks better?

i think that this is a huge blown out of proportion ordeal that no one needs to make a war about. no one made a fuss about link riding a horse. i’m sure this sort of thing has been happening all over the world and in games as well.

the FF series is for a fact the first game to use chocobo as an npc, monster, and a form of transportation that you could use freely and at times have breed to reproduce a super chocobo that can cross all sorts of terrain.

WoW has a ridable bird, so what? the series would have looked so much nicer with mounted horses or other mythical beasts. they chose this decision and it wasn’t a very bright one (it does look ugly as hell)

now… who thinks someone will bite off FF again and make an airship/cid combo?

I can see that my future blood elf is going to be collecting runecloth for rep and then buying herself a wolf.

Omg are you guys just morons or have you been tricked into believing that you are transported in the game when you play Its a bird blizzard didnt steal the idea from final fantasy final fantasy stole the idea from real life birds named “ostriges” morons god every idea has been done before and im sure they stole this from oriental mythology (pheonix)god the draenei mounts they stole from elephants but no one complaines about that because its REAL LIFE god get over yourselfs its a freaken bird they ride on not a freaken copyright they stole even if the blizzard devopers sit around all day playing video games to steal graphics at least they edit them to what they think they should be god blizzard devopers dont know every idea in every other game get over yourselfs

I dont care what any of ya newbs say final fantasy is the best game series ever! i play world of warcraft but i still love final fantasy! the purple ostrich is kinda kool but a chocobo could kick its ass!

Have none of you ever heard of the Linken Quest? Not to mention the two other characters in Ungoro Crater that look like Mario and Luigi just with different names. It was put in to pay tribute to those games not to mention the plethera of other hints at movies and games. I mean even in Uldaman there is Grimlock who represents Grimlock from Transformers. He even says “Me Grimlock King!” Which is a quote from that bot.

ffx cant run windowed mode

and further more to spoil this forums point both birds are diffrent shaped colored and stiled/ so niether are a rip off.
