Final Fantasy Chocobos VS World of Warcraft Blood Elf Mounts

World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade beta testers keep making new discoveries in the upcoming WoW expansion. It turns out the new Blood Elf Mounts look a suspicious lot like the Chocobos from the Final Fantasy series. Outside of Blizzard maybe getting sued by Square-Enix because both overgrown chickens share similarities, oh sorry you’re a fan, I meant to say both noble animal look alike. Well, outside of that tidbit, which do you think looks better?

And no one noticed anything comparatively similar to emus and ostriches about the mechanical chickens that the gnomes ride?

/sigh

I still think characters should be able to ride mounts of other races… but that’s just me.

THIS is a big deal?

I can’t believe you people are making a big deal out of this. It’s not like a single MMO on the market today is 100% ORIGINAL. They all borrow ideas from somewhere.

Wow, have played both..

But its been awhile since i have see them side by side. I forgot just how much better FFXI’s graphics are than WoW’s

Its just a shame FFXI requires so much time investment, it is a much much better game than wow..

They should have added Questing.. so you didnt have to LFG for days :/

i think that this is a huge blown out of proportion ordeal that no one needs to make a war about. no one made a fuss about link riding a horse. i’m sure this sort of thing has been happening all over the world and in games as well.

the FF series is for a fact the first game to use chocobo as an npc, monster, and a form of transportation that you could use freely and at times have breed to reproduce a super chocobo that can cross all sorts of terrain.

WoW has a ridable bird, so what? the series would have looked so much nicer with mounted horses or other mythical beasts. they chose this decision and it wasn’t a very bright one (it does look ugly as hell)

now… who thinks someone will bite off FF again and make an airship/cid combo?
