Innovative game creators listed in Digital Entertainment top 50

Taken from the Hollywood Reporter’s October 19th issue is the Producers’ Guild of America (PGA) has selected their annual list of 50 most innovative producers in the field of Digital Entertainment. The list of 50 producers and creators covers fields of animation, broadband, DVD, games, ITV, mobile and visual effects.

1UP quotes the game related VIP’s:
#5 – Will Wright, creator of The Sims.
#16 – Professor Ryuta Kawashima, the brain behind Nintendo’s Brain Age.
#38 – Hideo Kojima, father of the Metal Gear Solid series.
#50 – Tetsuya Mizuguchi, creator of Rez and Lumines.

Famous names outside the game industry include: Dennis Muren (#20) for his visual effects work on Star Wars, Google’s Larry Page and Sergei Brin (#9), and YouTube’s Chad Hurley and Chris Chen (#23).
