Bubble Bobble Revolution DS faulty, stops at level 30, game will be replaced in 8-10 weeks

Bubble Bobble Revolution (Nintendo DS)Taito’s Bubble Bobble Revolution game for Nintendo DS has a game-halting bug. Apparently in the big boss battle in level 30 the boss never appears, meaning that the game just sits there on an empty level waiting for a boss who will never come. Pressthebuttons mentiones this means the remaining seventy or so levels are unreachable. The fault is shown in this video by Jumpman64:

Developer Codemasters sent Gonintendo this response: “We have been looking very hard into this issue with Nintendo and have now determined that all of the cartridges that have been shipped in North America are faulty.

Needless to say we are extremely sorry that this situation has arisen and would like to apologise to you for this issue.

We have already started the process whereby a corrected version is to be manufactured and will ensure that all customers have their copies replaced. Unfortunately this will take 8-10 weeks (simply because of the time required to manufacture new carts). We will update you with what you will need to do to get a replacement game, as soon as this has been determined.”

So if you’re in the US, don’t buy Bubble Bobble Revolution yet for another 10 weeks. Yeh that’s basically until 2007 to be safe.

Are We seeing a increase in quality and decrease in quantity here?

and That too for Big names like Bubble bobble and Lego star wars!

 I’m very upset with this game. I love the classic which works great and was the reason I got it. But now with this glitch in level 30 for the new one, I get no further. From what this review says it should have been fixed this year, right? Well i GOT IT THIS YEAR! 2007 and it’s still bugged. And I don’t have the reciept anymore! I got it in the spring as a gift and only tried the new age version recently. So I’d like to know how they planned on fixing this? Will I get a new copy with the glitch gone? If not, I don’t think I can trust any game coming out of nitendo again.

Amanda, you should read this follow-up article so you know how to get a replacement game. Here: Codemasters finally replacing faulty Bubble Bobble Revolution DS cartridges. Also, it’s not Nintendo’s fault, Taito & Codemasters made the game and they say they’ll replace every faulty copy with a new working one.
