Nintendogs adopted in 7 million DS homes

Nintendo has released some up to date sales figures of the puppy simulator hit Nintendogs.

From sales data compiled yesterday, Nintendogs has broken the 7 million mark in worldwide sales. Get ready for a surprising breakdown of Nintendo DS sales data:

* In Japan the Nintendogs sold over 1 million units.
* The USA accounts for 2.2 million units in sales.
* Europe surprisingly account for 4 million units in sales.

I don’t think it’s that shocking. Yes, if anyone goes mad for virtual pets, it’s the Japanese, but perhaps the familiarity of breeds (about two thirds of them are British or German) meant that Europe went so mad over the lovable pups
