New PS3 Oblivion quest “The Knights of the Nine” coming to PC & Xbox 360

Oblivion The Knights of the Nine“As a Knight of the Nine, your goal is to become a force of good as a holy crusader. Empowered with some of the most powerful gear in the game, you’ll make a pilgrimage through the 16 square miles of the land of Cyrodiil. You must visit the shrines of each of Tamriel’s nine gods (the sort of shrines that don’t show up on maps) and then find the relics that will help restore your priory and the Knights of the Nine to their former majesty.”

As The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion fans read the above announcement for the new 10-20 hour PS3 quest “The Knights of the Nine”, all they really wondered was… Will the new quests eventually become available for X360 and PC players of Oblivion, or are they exclusively PS3’s?
Todd Howard, Executive Producer of Oblivion, explains: “We always aim to have all our content available across all platforms, so that is our goal.”

IGN also asks: How different will this version be from the others? If I’ve played this before, is there a reason to play it again on the PS3?
Howard: “Our goal is always to make the game look and feel consistent across all platforms. We design the game we want to make and then make that game available on as many platforms as possible. So, it’s the same base game as was released on PC/ 360. The PS3 is benefiting from us continuing to develop our core technology that drives all our Elder Scrolls games. Some of that is noticeable on the screen — like all the new graphic shaders — and some isn’t. The best examples are those new shaders we have for how “near detail” and “far detail” blend together on the landscape. You no longer have a harsh line cutting across the two levels, they blend together seamlessly and the distant detail and land looks much nicer.”

IGN: How awesome does the Unicorn look on PS3?
Howard: The unicorn has been our primary focus since day one. Everything else is secondary to us.
