Moto GP Studio bought by Disney
UK-based Climax Games (creators of MotoGP) announced last Friday they’ve been acquired by Buena Vista Games, part of the Walt Disney Company. The news is official according to 1UP, though the actual deal won’t be completed until early October.
“The acquisition of Climax Racing aligns perfectly with our strategic and geographic goals by allowing us to both reach into new genres and new markets for creative talent,” said Graham Hopper, senior VP and general manager, of Buena Vista Games in the announcement release.
Buena Vista Games also owns Avalanche Software and Propaganda Games. It’s not clear so far if Climax Games will continue working on their own titles or be put to work on Disney’s franchises. But it seems most likely they’ll be developing something of both.
