Brand new PS3 RPG! White Knight Story [working title] Official Trailer

Sony made a huge surprise announcement when they unveiled a brand-new RPG by the makers of the Dark Cloud series, Level 5. Also known for the cancelled Xbox MMORPG True Fantasy Online and the upcoming PS2 RPG Rogue Galaxy, Level 5 takes their RPG chops to Sony’s newest PS3 console.

In the official trailer for the game (which is titled “Shirokishi” in Japan, which literally translates to “White Knight” in English, thus the working English title of White Knight Story) the beautiful graphics compliment what seems to be a pretty standard, albeit excellent looking, role-playing game. The story involves a mysterious group dressed in black who burn down a castle and kill the king during a coming-of-age ceremony for the Princess of the peaceful kingdom. A young whine merchant saves her however when he meets her by chance, sneaking her away before she can be harmed, to an underground vault under the castle, where they discover an ancient relic . . . the armor of the White Knights.

Lots of gameplay is shown and the game looks very cool. Notice the seamless transition between the movie scenes and in-game graphics. That’s because everything is rendered on the PS3.
