This is Assassin’s Creed Storyline Diary where director Jade Raymond explains a little more about the mysterious PS3, Xbox 360 & PC game from Ubisoft Montreal. I had already noticed the missing finger, but didn’t know about the historical background being used, I’m digging it, do you?

Assassin’s Creed short synopsis:
“Our story follows a disgraced master Assassin (Altair) who embarks on an epic quest to restore his status within the Assassin Order. After failing to assassinate the Templar Leader (Robert de Sable) and recover the legendary Templar Treasure, Altair is demoted to Uninitiated (the lowest rank in the Assassin order).

Sinan, Leader of the Assassins, offers our hero an opportunity to redeem himself. Altair must venture out into the Holy Land and assassinate men said to be exacerbating and exploiting the hostilities created by the Third Crusade. In doing so, he will stabilize the region, allowing Sinan to usher in an age of peace.

When our game begins, Richard the Lionheart has just recaptured the port city of Acre from occupying Saracens. With a base of operations established, the Crusaders prepare to march south. Their true target is Jerusalem – which they intend to recapture in the name of the Church. However, Saladin, leader of the Saracen Army, currently rules Jerusalem. Stinging from his army’s defeat at Acre, he will now allow Richard to humiliate him again. The Saracens are massing at the ruins of Fortress Arsuf, intending to ambush the Crusaders and prevent them from reaching Jerusalem.

These war maneuvers have left the rest of the Holy Land wide open. While Richard and Saladin battle one another, the men left to govern in their stead have begun taking advantage of their newfound positions of power. Exploiting, manipulation, and provocation rule the day. It is into this chaotic mess our hero now finds himself thrust. He is ordered to assassinate those most active in their exploitation.

And so Altair begins his missions.

Along the way, however, he will begin to discover that his targets are bound by more than just a shared interest in personal gain. They seem to share membership in a secret society – a group all too familiar to the Assassins. And they are not simply looking for profit. The true goal, and how they plan to achieve it are secrets to be discovered during the course of our story.”

O yes I will be the true arrogant american and say that it is not the individual muslim that is flawed but this destructive culture they have created but I meen we americans are so much better we slaughtered and stole native american lands , we expidate and manhandle the weaker countrys and enforce our superior better beliefs on people. so that who is unguilty cast the first stone when will we find eutopia

  • Thomasaquinas

Well, it seems to me to be sort of anti-Catholic… I mean, pretty much everyone in the crusades were less than intrested in being human rights advocates. (Both sides, or in this game, all three sides)

I have a feeling though that this will be like any first person game made in the last few year and end up being:
    1. Hey, you, kill these guys
    2. No, wait, kill these more powerful guys
    3. Oh, yeah, now kill the people who sent you to kill those other guys.

To tell you the truth it was the europeans not the americans that slaughtered the indians i was born here therefore i am american get over it

  • Futbolero

Another video game and meia even t portraying the Church has an evil institution. Actually there was seven crusades. The first, the Europeans took Jerusalem. The second, the Europeans managed to hold onto Jerusalem but left for some ounknown reason. The thirs when Saladin came in the Europeans lost, the foorth crusade was a fight only between the West and Constantinople. The other three were to vague, the children’s crusade resulted in disaster.

Yes but Americans did slaughter the Native Americans in the West considering it was a nation by the time the country arrived to California area. Also Blacks were slaves longer than then Indians were in South America, look up dates for slave freedom in South America then compare it to the Civil War. Actually the Crusdes started when the Muslims took Jeruslam and prevented Christian pilgrams to enter the city. Like previously mentioned in a post, neither of the three monnotheistic religions at that time were concerned for human rights. Also Richard the Lionheart and Saladin were truly secular rulers.

I haven’t play the game yet but looks great.I am a Muslim and id like to answer 7thNCtrooper but what is said from fellow”catholic&American friends is enough, when can we learn that defending your home land is pure glory not terror no matter what you believe.7thNCtrooper ppl like you are the reason why we have so much killings in that world

dude how was saladin a secular ruler. just because he allowed the christians and jews to live in peace. christians were allowed to live peacefully in muslim lands since the beginning of islam. saladin was a ruler who truly followed his faith unlike many of todays muslims christains and jews.

this game looks great tho. btw the secret society is the knights templar thich are a topic of great interest and contraversy. great gam, great stroyline. 5/5

I’d like to say that both ends of this arguement are right in one way or another, Muslims are murderous people, not all but the majority, obviously, and yes we killed the indians and took their land, but look at it this way, they still live here don’t they???
