Be warned: LEGO Star Wars II for DS incomplete

Kotaku uncovered that the DS version of LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy was shipped out to stores incomplete! Developer Amaze Entertainment team members let them know that the bugs in the game were known issues and that the company knowingly shipped the game with them still there.

To quote: “The first production run of the game was pushed out the door early. This was in part to coincide with the release of the Star Wars DVDs Episode IV, V, VI. The good news is that a second production run of the game has been tested and should hit store shelves after the initial stock runs out. However the game is still not bug free, but MUCH cleaner. The Endor Battle level has been tweaked so it is now user friendly. Although if I remember correctly the wireless co-op mode is still crap.”

The moles also mention the U.S. version is actually far better than the one that hit Europe, and that’s not saying much.

This is unacceptable, a PC or Xbox 360 version of the game can get patches online to fix bugs, but that’s not the case with this DS version, yet they keep producing more unfinished games (probably to meet initial demand from people expecting a complete game!). Of course Amaze blaims Lucas Arts and the other way around *sigh*

It’s a bitch getting your money back for an open title, but I managed to do it. I feel that game companies, like every other company, is responsible for fixing or replacing, or refunding my cash whenever they release a broken item for me to buy.

After initially thinking of selling this game on ebay I’ve now acted on the comments posted here and managed to get Amazon to take the game back! Cheers guys

Loads of bugs = defective product. Any decent retailer will not want their customers to buy this game.

I got Amazon to take it back.

I purchased the PS2 version of the game from Target on 09/20/2006. The only bug I’ve encountered is in super story mode while doing Battle for Endor. The game freezes.

I purchased the PS2 version of the game from Amazon via a promotion from LexisNexis in April 2007.

The only bug I’ve encountered is the same as the one TJ mentioned: In Super Story Mode while doing Battle for Endor (for the Return of the Jedi super story mode), the game freezes.

For me, it always freezes in the part midway through the level where you have to jump across the river and then put the little pieces together to form the C-3P0 protocol droid lock. It’s right before the point where you form the ramp and get all your characters to stand on the red buttons to get the gates to fall to move onto the next section of the level.

How do I get a refund from Amazon? This bug on the PS2 game makes it impossible to get 100%, & right now I have over 96%! Thanks for reading, let me know if you can help.
