Apple wasn’t satisfied with just offering music and video through their online iTunes Store, they also wanted to jump into the casual gamers market that mobile phones have been enjoying for many years now.
iPod Games allows you to buy games for $4.99 in the iTunes Store online, download and sync them with your fifth-generation iPod, and iTunes automatically transfers the games to your iPod. Then you’re off to play one of the following (mostly PopCap) games:
* Bejeweled – Match jewels to clear the board
* Tetris – Rotate falling bricks to clear rows
* PAC-MAN – Get the ghosts
* Vortex – Shoot on through to the other side (circle Breakout)
* Zuma – Slide balls of the same color together
* Texas Hold ‘Em – Practice your poker face
* Mini Golf – Make a hole in one (or five)
* Mahjong – Arrange tiles just so
* Cubis 2 – Match cubes in colorful arrays
Apparently using the iPod’s Click Wheel as a controller works “perfectly”. I’d try it out to see how it works, but between the mobile phone, Nintendo DS, PC, and Xbox Live Arcade, I’ve already got all games covered. Did anyone try it?
Hope they are graphically well too. and can we play it iin I pod NANO also?
I just checked and it turns out the 5th generation iPod are those iPods with a video player.
Now I am just waiting for a mod chip for the apple iPod to start running emulators, and homebrew games too.
Though there are lots of “homebrew” games for the older generation players, can’t wait to see what this new generation of better resolution will bring to that scene.
I pod nano has the capabilty to see Pics:P not videos though.. So I think it wont work in that:( well, all are ther for the PC and DS is Far better than any IPOD
I can’t believe this? Why is it that some Games (bought and) downloaded aren’t authorized by the workstation (mac pc) to play with it?
Hi everyone.
What's a good alternative to the IPOD?
I'm wondering if any of you can recommend a good MP3 player that is comparable to the IPod but WITHOUT they hype and price tabe to go with it.
I was at the apple store a few days ago, and really liked the new 40GB or 80GB IPods that also show video, but was wondering if I could get the same kind of funcationality without that heftly price tag.
I just got my 2000t and all of my songs are skipping in iTunes, and I cant figure out why. If someone could help me out and tell me how to fix this I would really appreciate it because its driving me crazy. Thanks for the replys.
