World of Warcraft hits 7 million users worldwide! 9,000 servers and counting!

World of WarcraftBlizzard announced at the Austin Game Conference this morning, that World of Warcraft has reached 7 million active subscribers worldwide!

Joystiq reports that despite all of the technical issues and player complaints, the game’s popularity has continued to grow on a large scale. Blizzard’s MMORGP jumped from 5 million users late in December 2005, to 6 million active subscribers at the beginning of March 2006.

Did you know that despite all the above mentioned complaints there are 9,000 Blizzard servers globally supporting WoW? It’s true, and over 1,300 Game Masters provide 24/7 customer support in 6 languages directly to players while playing the game.
