Super Mario 64 in 16 minutes speedrun (humanly impossible on N64!)

Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64 is otherwise known as “The Best (Launch) Game Ever!” Did you ever wonder if Mario was actually a ninja wearing blue overalls? Now you’ll find out. This movie was made using a PC emulator with savestates and slowdown. It’s meant to show the game pushed to its limits and that’s why it’ll blow you away in the Bowser stages!!! Skip to the bottom to see right away.

This run completes the game after collecting a mere 16 stars. It was originally intended that the player collect a minimum of 70 to finish, but a few bugs allow Mario to pass through doors and barriers that require a minimum number of stars to open. Mario has a very wide range of skills for mobility and some of the physics of this game are easily abused by an experienced player. This movie: - Aims for fastest time; - Takes damage to save time; - Abuses programming errors in the game; - Ignores semi-important goals in the game.

It’s great trip down memory lane. I love everything about this game, the ending music is awesome.

That video’s great. He has some perfect timing! Makes me want to play the game again…though I have horrible timing

Sorry, that I say that, but maybe the timing isnt the problem. Upper you can read, that “savestates and slowdown” where used. So the video you have seen took more time to make than you think. But it is very awesome to see that. Forget God, forget Neo from “Matrix”, forget Chuck Norris. People who make such videos are the real chosen ones.^^
Is it possible to learn speed running? I would like to do that, too.
