Tecmo, the maker of the Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden series announced as part of a financial report issued on August 28th, that the company will support the Wii’s Virtual Console “aggressively.” Specifics were not revealed to IGN.
Other areas mentioned in the financial report, are a worldwide simultaneous launch for Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 on Xbox 360 and a promise to tackle new titles, with the Wii’s Super Swing Golf Pangya given as an example. The company didn’t make mention of Xbox Live Arcade or Sony’s PS3 download service.
It looks like our crew member astrotriforce was right on the money in reviewing the entire NES Ninja Gaiden Trilogy in advance (see our “Easy Review Links” in the left menu), because it’s very likely you’ll be download them and other classics like Tecmo Bowl later this year.
Other NES, SNES & Genesis possibilities include: Mighty Bomb Jack, Solomon’s Key 1 & 2, Rygar, Tecmo Baseball, Tecmo World Wrestling, Star Force, Secret of the Stars, Tecmo Super Bowl 1 & 2 & 3, Tecmo Super Hockey, Tecmo Super Baseball.
Its a NES game right? s technically its was going be there no matter what… as Nintendo is planning to get ALL nes games in virtual console…. or is it not???
I think so, but they won’t release every game at once. It’s likely they are going to spread out the nes, snes, etc. games over the months of the year.
If nintendo Wii makes the first baseball stars and the tecmo football classics avaliable, I will purchase the system.
They have no idea how many people will buy the system if Tecmo Super Bowl is released.
Will 2 online gamers be able to play against one another in the NES games?
Rich, unless they do a remake, they’ll only put the old offline version up for download.
I don’t play very many video games, but if they release Tecmo Super Bowl, I will 100% by the system.
OMG, I’ve died and gone to heaven. Favorite game of all time Tecmo Super Bowl! Please sell it for Wii and make it playable across the internet!!!!
i know of at least 5 people who will buy the wii for tecmo super bowl.
good to see theres other tecmo freaks out there.
I will deinatly buy the Wii over the PS3 if Tecmo Superbowl becomes available for the systemin the near future.
As much as I’d like to see it, there’s no way they can release Tecmo Super Bowl in its NES form.
They’d have to re-license all the players - and that’s not happening with the EA/Madden monopoly.
The could use generic players and it would suit me fine.
