Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility update adds 39 new games to a list that now totals nearly 300

Microsoft just posted a Backwards Compatibility update, with 39 new games and 9 updated games–the largest number of new games updated since the original list of over 200.

It’s interesting to note that this is the first time the list includes games that are not on the market yet for Xbox, with Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run, The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning, and Lego Star Wars II. And of these, Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy also has an Xbox 360 SKU – another first for the BC list.

The list includes Burnout 3: Takedown, Counter Strike, Dead to Rights, ESPN Major League Baseball, Tom Clancy´s Ghost Recon - Island Thunder, Lego Star Wars II, Mortal Kombat: Deception, Namco Museum, Sid Meier’s Pirates, Over the Hedge, Rogue Trooper, Serious Sam, and Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run. It also includes updates to Half Life 2, The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer, and several more.

You can play cross-platform between Xbox 360 and the original Xbox over Xbox Live. And with anti-aliasing, these original Xbox games will look better than ever on Xbox 360 running in 720p and 1080i.

pleez im begging that need for speed carbon and superman returns are on the next update because my xbox has stoppd working and i have no where to play my games but those are my two favourite xbox games

Just take it easy and wait your turn, at least M$ didn’t claim that ALL titles would be compatible at launch,unlike another rival console who failed their promise…

Just bought path of neo…so angry right now, they should require shops to add stickers to the xbox games STATING which ones will work and which won’t Microsoft get your act together and publish an update that includes the top ten most wanted as opposed to “barbie” and other such crap as “how to clean dog turd out of the carpet” it’s tat and no one wants it, GET ON WITH IT

dude i dont see why Playstation 2 can play regular old playstation without having to update it all the time….but here with the “NEW AND IMPROVED XBOX” you have to always get an update for old games, and half of the games that they make compatible, SUCK and aint even worth playing….what a waste of money and time. anyways….i just thought id put that out there cuz i cant play any xbox games without having to get an update and the games i wanted to play aint even on the list of the new updates….it sucks….thanks for readin….later
