Electronic Arts is letting you play Sim City Classic for free as an online application called Sim City Live Online! The original game has been retooled for internet functionality, so all you need to play is your browser. It only seems to work in the Internet Explorer web browsers (and not all except for Netscape Navigator as EA originally stated).
The simulation game is based off the PC version and all you need to do to play is login at EA’s Sim City Classic website. They’ve also put up a play guide and instructions manual.
1UP muses this is a marketing gimmick designed to promote Sim City 4, but it’s free so who cares?
So it keeps telling me that every username on the face of the planet already exists. WTF?
i know i hate my life
f*ck
Why do all the screennames not work!
Bullsh@t
yes… why arent any screennames i pick working!!?????
The Classic SimCity live website says I can’t play unless I *upgrade* to netscape navigator 4.0 or IE 3.0. What year does EA think this is?
… i guess its worth it if you can actually find a screen name that isnt already in use… wtf is up with that i even chose like 20 random numbers
i want to play simcity.
i like games like this where can a person find free rpg or games like this online? email me @ cdussery05@yahoo.com
The EA/Maxis Sim City Classic online site doesn’t work. I’ve tried to register several times. It always says it is sending me an e-mail to which I must respond to complete my registration. Fair enough, and a fairly normal procedure to register online for things. Except the e-mail never gets generated or sent to me. And my spam filter is permanently off for the email account I use, plus I’ve checked the spam, junk, and trash folders, just in case. And every time I try to log-in I get the message that that account is not active yet, and I have to respond to the e-mail generated when I registered, which they never send me.
I’m having the same exact problem that MERRY is. I just want to play SimCity, is that too much to ask?
