Valve’s Doug Lombardi today said he’s delaying Half-Life 2: Episode Two and its included games Team Fortress 2 and Portal till February 2007.
Talking to Eurogamer at the Leipzig Games Convention he blamed it on “Valve being overly aggressive on our dates. We’re aiming for Q1 right now and we’re really far along in the playtest stage.” Mr. Lombardi continued: “You know, our thing is always that we’re trying to make really good experiences and so we’re going to manage to that rather than the schedule.”
Below are new videos from Episode 2, Team Fortress 2 & Portal shot at the Leipzig Game Conference showfloor. No official trailers have been released yet, so this is the best we could find.

TF2 looks like a total joke. I cannot even take the game seriously, it looks so horrible. There is no way in hell that any self respecting, old school TFC player will play that cartoonified pile of horse crap. Looking at that video made me feel ***. I will play the original until there are no servers left. Better yet, I think I am going to throw my support behind Fortress Forever, which definately looks and feels like what TF2 SHOULD HAVE BEEN.
TF2 looks f*cking horrible. Thanks, f*cking Valve!!
F*ck you, Valve. Just f*ck you.

bozojojo, while I don’t mind cursing all that much here, my colleague might just have deleted your post, but since you cared to explain yourself I only edited out a few curse and innuendo words, they do lessen the point you’re trying to make.
I do wish you weren’t so quick to judge on the art/color style, but since it’s included in Episode 2 you really should give it a try, you might like the gameplay.

TF2 looks simply amazing, and from looking at the trailers, I KNOW it will be because the gameplay appears to be EXACTLY like TFC. TFC was a great game in so many ways, mostly from how fun every class could be and how well they were balanced for casual AND tourney play. For those that may have missed it, the map featured in the trailers is a gorgeous take on 2fort, the iconic map from TFC.
The cartoonish visual style is love-or-hate (as is obvious from post #1), which will probably turn off younger (13-18 year old?) gamers who prefer a grittier feel. Hopefully it will appeal to a broader audience though. The game is simple to pick up, but never gets old because of the limitless combinations of classes and maps.
They kept rocket jumps obviously, and the game’s feel is exactly like the first, so I can only hope the same for conc jumps
2fort forever!
