New Guitar Hero 2 info revealed

PS2 Guitar Hero BundleGuitar Hero II developer RedOctane is preparing to release the game in the US on November 24 and in Europe on November 30. Kotaku found out some interesting new facts from an interview, listed below.
Still waiting for the 55 songs list.

* Multiplayer will include a Pro Faceoff mode which allow both players to play the exact same notes and practice mode will be speed adjustable.
* The game will feature in-game endorsements and real-world venues.
* There will be at least two new characters: Dax DeVille, the Rockabilly formerly known as King Kendall after Harmonix’ Jason Kendall, and a still unnamed Norwegian death rocker.
* The game will feature a new venue lighting system that sync up the music being played to the lighting.
* Hammer-ons and pull-offs have been tweaked. You will no longer have to hold down the lower frets to pull them off and the window of success for hammer-ons has been tweaked.
* Three-note chords have been added, but the game will no longer feature chords that bridge from fret one to five.
* The save screen from the original Guitar Hero was done by Shepard Fairey, creator of the Andre the Giant has a Posse sticker.

“The save screen from the original Guitar Hero was done by Shepard Fairey, creator of the Andre the Giant has a Posse sticker.”

Besides the fact that you need quotes around “Andre the Giant has a Posse” to make that more readable, I’m not sure how this is GH2 news.

Good to hear about hammer-ons and pull-offs. The old system was pretty porked in that regard.

pretty pumped for the 3 chords
