Four new Guitar Hero games coming from Activision on PS2
A Joystiq source today spoke of there “potentially” being four sequels to the one Guitar Hero game already out in stores. Although they are sure that Activision/Red Octane will pump out new games and/or expansion packs as long as they keep selling, whether Harmonix is around to develop for them or not.
It was also mentioned the below listed new games will probably get downloadable songs and other relevant content at some point in the near future (Christmas 2006 to 2007). Much like Sony’s PS3 SongStar game then.
Here’s the list of titles under consideration:
* Guitar Hero 2: ReAmped
* Guitar Hero 3: Encore
* Guitar Hero 4: Jam Session
* Guitar Hero 5: World Tour
Kelly Sumner, CEO of publisher RedOctane, has mentioned in the past that…
“We are working on Guitar Hero 2, which will have 40-plus new tracks,” Sumner told MCV. He also confirmed that genre spin-offs including Country Rock for the US and a Metal edition are on the cards. He even pointed to further possibilities for the peripheral, adding, “you could absolutely do a plug and play version”.
