Spore coming to Xbox 360, Wii and PS3 says game creator Will Wright

After EA was previously planning Spore to go from PC to handhelds. In an interview this week Spore creator Will Wright was quoted as saying:

“We’re looking at all the platforms for Spore, because we’re thinking about Spore as a franchise, not as a PC game. We’re going to do the PC game first, but really, what we’re trying to launch is an entire franchise that will be all across platforms.”

“It will probably take very different forms depending on the platforms. We might even pull out parts of the game, so you might be playing part of the game on a handheld platform, you might be playing the entire game but maybe more avatar-based on a console. The consoles are getting kind of different now, I think there’s a really interesting distinction between the Wii and the Xbox 360 and PS3. Something like the Wii offers a lot of interesting creative opportunities for the editors, with the controller.”

He closed off by saying: “That’s been one of the ongoing problems with consoles: they don’t have a mouse. The mouse is a very good random-access device for putting on the screen; a console controller really makes you want the game avatar-based, so you move on character — that’s why RTS games suck on consoles. With Spore, about half the game is avatar-based already — the creature game and the space game — and it would be pretty easy for us to make the intermediate levels avatar-based, so from the beginning, we thought about how we could move Spore to platforms including consoles.”

i think that spore would be alot of fun on all systems you should rilly think about what people want from a game spore reaches out to a wide verity of gamers. so why not make it playable for all systems.

I think that spore would really suck for the x box 360 and for the ps3. It would be a whole lot better if it were for wii since the remote is wireless and you only have to move the remote.

this is exiting I can’t belive it is coming to PS3 unfortanatly I will be unable to get a PS3 untill a few months after the begining of this year hopefully I get a raise and I could get it in a week of working I do belive it would work on a PS2 console though to it isn’t nesseserly that hard I mean look at grand theft auto, rockstar games did realy good with that it was a great success.

I speak for myself and other people that the people with windows 2000 and lower cannot play spore so i hope spore can reach to all systems and operating systems lower than xp

You definately need to make Spore available for the Wii or the Xbox 360…
