New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game by Ubisoft coming in 2007

At the San Diego Comic-Con, Ubisoft announced it’s creating a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game based on the upcoming CGI movie. Currently titled TMNT, the game is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal (Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia).

Story: The turtles will battle an evil that threatened the city and sewers they live in. Ubisoft says it will be coming to next-gen systems, so expect it to be released for Xbox 360, Wii, PS3 & PC on March 30th 2007 (when the TMNT movie comes out).

Ubisoft did release a TMNT game trailer here, which included some tidbits on how the game will mirror the movie. For your inner kid I’m adding the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon theme song below:

The OLD TMNT looked sooo, Kiddish. The new one looks LOT better and is also a LOT more finnier. But still It ROCKS! hope the games a good as the NES ones.

lokks like this will be the winner. i grew up watching these pizza lovin shellbacks and the games made by konami in recent years isnt what i expected in reviving the turtles. ubisoft has a huge burden on their hands. making the turtles current-gen. i believe they can do it. the Prince of Persia trilogy was one the best ubisoft games ive played. if these turtles take any notes form their previous games, this will be the MUST HAVE TURTLE GAME OF ALL TIME. it’ll be up there with TURTLES IN TIME.

Seeing that old theme song brought back a lot of memories… Wow, it’s been a while, when you think about it. And it’s so obviously now meant as a children’s show, but this theme song reminded me of the original spirit of the turtles: darker than the later “hero turtles” that got softened with lamer plots and moral lessons. I haven’t personally seen the new turtles cartoon (looks quite sinister and cool, but I’m too old, alas but I remember the really old turtles cartoon having that edgy 80s cool about it: plenty of ninja-weapon action and a rock soundtrack. Oh, and mutants. Remember Toxic Crusader too? Oldschool.

the new game looks very good. I just hope that its going to be 4 players co-op, because me and my friends all grew up on ninja turtles, and it would be a crying shame to make this game a one player game.

i cant wait tell it comes out the graphics look so good i cant wait tell it comes out ninja turtles is my favourite.
