Quake 4 update extends the life for all (multi-)players

Quake 4id Software announced that it’s making great strides in tuning and tweaking the multiplayer gaming experience for Quake 4 in the 1.3 update for the PC version.

As all friendly neighbours ask “Hi, how was your day?” id said changes are being made in response to fan feedback on the sequel and features requested by the Quake 4 community, with the developer stating that multiplayer alterations introduced in the 1.3 update “will provide a faster, smoother, and more highly competitive experience”. id also says they hope the changes will make the game “even more fun for new players”

Continuing with that “You can expect increased mobility and control, improved performance with ambient lighting options, and weapon alterations that advance playability and challenge competitive players.”

id also announced it’s introducing a new gametype, new weapons and “several professionally made maps” in the 1.3 update. The update is currently undergoing beta testing and the developer hopes to release it into the public domain “sometime before QuakeCon.”

QuakeCon runs from August 3rd to August 6th this year.
