What do astronauts in space play?
Astronauts on the NASA shuttle Discovery took the day off yesterday to enjoy their time on the International Space Station after they completed the main work of their planned 13-day spaceflight. The shuttle suffered no significant damage during its July 4th launch, which was a key goal after the Columbia disaster in 2003.
Aside from giving a few press interviews the astronauts had the entire day for some rest and relaxation. Ground controllers, in a joking e-mail to the crew, suggested several games to pass the time, including “who can toss the laptop furthest down the station before it bounces off the wall” and “a few appropriate computer games” such as “Asteroids, Space Invaders or Star Wars’ Wing Commander.”
I’ve added Asteroids below, but what games would YOU play in space?
PS: NASA has declared Discovery fit for return to Earth on Monday. Game via stopbeingbored.
