Valve’s Gabe Newell revealed at EA’s annual summer press event that Half-Life 2 will be coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3! But wait, that’s not all, it will include all extra content released for PC so far and more.
The console versions will include:
* Half-Life 2,
* Half-Life 2: Episode One,
* Half-Life 2: Episode Two,
* Half-Life 2: Portal,
* Team Fortress 2.
Team Fortress 2, now sports a cartoonish art style and a 60’s spy feel, akin to that of Monolith’s No One Lives Forever.
Half-Life 2: Portal, incorporates a rather imaginative gun to blast Prey-like portals into floors and walls, allowing for an entirely new Puzzle-FPS way to interact with environments and enemies. The latter and possibly both will also be included in Half-Life 2: Episode Two on the PC.
Half-Life 2 with all the extra content, will be released for Xbox 360 & PS3 alongside the PC game’s Half-Life 2: Episode Two expansion later in 2006. Via Joystiq
FPS games on console is a joke
For a real control and speed in a fps game you need keyboard and mouse.
Its a shame console games and pc games cant play mutliplayer together on the same server.
Then the console noobs would get hammered by the pc players with keyboard and mouse control .
who said you wont be able to use a keyboard and mouse with the ps3.
Oh yeah…. pc gamers are so cool. Can i have your autograph? Maybe your mad ‘fps’ keyboard and mouse skills will actually get you a date.
My ‘fps’ keyboard and mouse skills have gotten me several hot women. Naked AND in bed.
I’m a PC gamer, and unlike many of my brothren, I’m glad that HL2, Ep2 and Ep1 is being realised to the console. It will give console gamers a chance to enjoy what we have enjoyed (and still do) for a year and a half now. This type of game could only of been created for the PC (first).
Wow! PC gamers sure have succled from the arrogance teate most of their lives! PC games are nice, but nothing beats the gaming comfort of sitting on your gaming couch or chair and immersing yourself in a console game.
So u never played half life one using the ps joystick and a mouse. easily as good if not better than doin it on pc.
First person shooters need to remain where they belong and that is not on consoles.
Why? At least explain yourself…
I agree: for a real FPS experience you need a keyboard and mouse… and fully configurable. It is not that PC gamers are cool. It is just a physical fact: especially for the mouse, it gives much more precision than a short joystick. Plus, a keyboard gives you more button than a console controller. Period. I tried a few consoles FPS solely for the purpose of analysing this. I got tired every time and this IS NOT because I am so used to kb-mouse controls.
