Valve’s Gabe Newell revealed at EA’s annual summer press event that Half-Life 2 will be coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3! But wait, that’s not all, it will include all extra content released for PC so far and more.
The console versions will include:
* Half-Life 2,
* Half-Life 2: Episode One,
* Half-Life 2: Episode Two,
* Half-Life 2: Portal,
* Team Fortress 2.
Team Fortress 2, now sports a cartoonish art style and a 60’s spy feel, akin to that of Monolith’s No One Lives Forever.
Half-Life 2: Portal, incorporates a rather imaginative gun to blast Prey-like portals into floors and walls, allowing for an entirely new Puzzle-FPS way to interact with environments and enemies. The latter and possibly both will also be included in Half-Life 2: Episode Two on the PC.
Half-Life 2 with all the extra content, will be released for Xbox 360 & PS3 alongside the PC game’s Half-Life 2: Episode Two expansion later in 2006. Via Joystiq

I agree: for a real FPS experience you need a keyboard and mouse… and fully configurable. It is not that PC gamers are cool. It is just a physical fact: especially for the mouse, it gives much more precision than a short joystick. Plus, a keyboard gives you more button than a console controller. Period. I tried a few consoles FPS solely for the purpose of analysing this. I got tired every time and this IS NOT because I am so used to kb-mouse controls.
