Awesome Arcade center with 85 classic games

Awesome Arcade centerDo you love the classic Arcade games? Check out Awesome Arcades. For $1,799, the company is selling an “Awecade AC-601″ arcade center with more than 85 games from gaming history. Also includes a Light Gun, 2 Joysticks with each 12 buttons, 24 Watt stereo speakers and a 21-inch screen.

The company is pitching the machine to those with home game rooms. The machine is the brain child of Curt Vendel, chief executive of Awesome Arcades and creator of the Atari Flashback 2 game.

The titles include old games from Atari, Midway, Digital Leisure and others:

Midway Arcade Treasures Pak 1: 720, Blaster, Bubbles, Defender, Defender II, Gauntlet, Joust, Joust 2, Klax, Marble Madness, Paperboy, Rampage, Rampart, Roadblasters, Robotron 2084, Root Beer Tapper, Satan’s Hollow, Sinistar, Smash TV, Splat!, Spy Hunter, Super Sprint, Toobin’, and Vindicators.

Midway Arcade Treasures Pak 2: APB, Arch Rivals, Champ. Sprint, Cyberball 2072, Gauntlet II, Hard Drivin’, Kozmik Krooz’r, Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II, Mortal Kombat 3, NARC, Pit Fighter, Primal Rage, Rampage World Tour, Spy Hunter II, Timber, Total Carnage, Wacko, Wizard of Wor, Xenophobe, and Xybots.

Atari Arcade Pak: Asteroids, Battlezone, Black Widow, Centipede, Crystal Castles, Deluxe Asteroids, Gravitar, Liberator, Lunar Lander, Missile Command, Major Havoc, Millipede, Pong, Red Baron, Space Duel, Super Breakout, Tempest, and Warlords.

Exidy/MAME Excitement Pak: Bandido, Catch 22*, Cheyenne*, Circus, Clay Pigeon*, Combat*, Crackshot*, Crossbow*, Hardhat, Hit n Miss*, Mousetrap, Pepper II, Showdown*, Spectar, Targ, Top Secret, Venture, Victory, , Who Dunnit*

Games marked with “*” have Light Gun support. In addition to the above Game Paks, the AC-601 also comes with Dragons Lair 20th Anniversary Edition which includes: Dragons Lair I, Dragons Lair II, and Space Ace.

I’ll be honest, when I first saw the Awesome Arcades site I thought to myself I’d never want one of those arcade centers, but looking at all those golden oldie games has me wanting it. Via Dean Takahashi
