cnc3 tiberium wars screenshotGreat news for Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game fans! In Gaming Steve’s podcast interview with Louis Castle, EA VP and designer of Command & Conquer (C&C) and Dune II, he confirmed that a 360 version of Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars is currently being developed by the same team responsible for the upcoming 360 version of Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth 2 (BoME2). For BoME2 a unique control scheme was devised to allow playing RTS games on a console, which would be reused for C&C 3.

Storyline:
It is 2047 and the stakes could not be higher. Tiberium-a self-replicating alien substance that has infected the Earth-is spreading like a radioactive ice age. The GDI, a high-tech alliance of the world’s most advanced nations, is fighting to contain Tiberium, but Kane, the megalomaniacal leader of The Brotherhood of NOD has other plans for Earth.

Kane’s secret society turned superpower is bent on using Tiberium to take control and transform humanity into his twisted vision of the future. All-out war rages over Tiberium and the fate of the planet rests in the balance.

I really hated the C&C and Red Alert ports on the PS1, such slooooow map moving and hud control, even the N64 suffered from that compared to the PC version. If they get the control system right, this is going to be something really amazing for sure.
