Xbox 360 Live 12--mo Gold Card Kit1UP has a guided Xbox Live tour of the new features and functionality that this Spring Update offers. Note: the walkthrough guide has a potty mouth.

The Xbox Live Update is now available for those with broadband Internet connections. Microsoft hasn’t forgotten the half of all Xbox 360 users that don’t actually use Xbox Live, and are currently working on finding a way to deliver the update (which updates a significant amount of offline functionality for the Xbox 360) to users without Live.

Microsoft’s solution is that the update will be made available on game discs (much like how firmware upgrades are included on game discs for Sony’s PSP).

However, considering that the Spring Update was approved hours before it went live, it seems like a bit much to ask for simultaneous availability.

When the disc will be available is unknown. But while they are speaking of delivering online content to offline Xbox 360′s, how about them releasing a DVD from where offline users can select their original Xbox game backwards compatibility patches for installation?
