New Smash Bros. Brawl details and possible DS version unveiled!

Super Smash Bros. Brawl director Masahiro Sakurai said in a Q&A on the official SSBB website that the Wii installment of the series will stress “easiness” over the small details of combat, to help make the game easier to play for newcomers.

The ‘Brawl director also touched on the game’s character line-up, noting that it hasn’t been finalised yet. Sakurai said that the reveal of Solid Snake means that they’re contemplating adding one or two more non-Nintendo fighters to the game, but he notes that the characters must have appeared on Nintendo systems at some point to be considered.

Even though an online mode was already confirmed by Nintendo President Satoru Iwata at E3 2005, Sakurai isn’t as quick to champion the now year-old announcement. The ‘Brawl team are apparently looking into the feature and hope to include online play in time for the game’s 2007 release, but we’re told there are currently no plans for leader boards or the like.

Sakurai doesn’t want to put a lot of Japanese specific characters in the game, seeing that the Smash Bros. series is popular worldwide. There still may be room for some specific characters, but you won’t see them taking over the game.

Sakurai also mentioned a possible Nintendo DS entry in the Smash Bros. series. While he said there’s nothing in development at the moment, he didn’t rule out a stylus-waving Smash Bros. for the future.

if didy kong and banjo and kazooie wer created by rare, rare belongs to microsoft. How come we use didy kong in brawl, but we can not use banjo and kazooie for brawl or any other game of the sort

if u make brawl on DS make sure you add waluigi,roy,richu,pichu,plusl,minuin,kistle,slippy,all r.o.b.s,link/link as wolf.

I think an installment of ssb would be a very good idea. honestly i don’t care if other characters are introduced as lomg as they keep mario at least.

I agree w/ pichu and or raichu for ds! also they should add son goku because he was originally for nintendo snes. Goku would be a sub for pit or metaknight. Btw if u were to add son goku i would give him his power pole! His stage would be where he grew up

I think we should add Amy Rose as an unlockable character. The B button allows her to take out or put away her Piko Piko Hammer
