Nintendo DS New Super Mario BrosThe Nintendo DS continues to sell extremely well in nearly every market it’s been released. The DS is absolutely dominating in Japan. And as this U.S. Best Buy sales chart for the week of May 14-20th indicates, this isn’t likely to stop, even in America, especially given the upcoming release of the DS Lite.

Nintendo’s new classic, New Super Mario Bros. took the #1 spot, with the phenomenal learning experiment that is Brain Age: Train Your Brain In Minutes A Day, taking the #2 spot.

While this isn’t totally surprising given the quality of Brain Age and the great reviews the game recieved, it was to be seen how the game would fare in the U.S. after totally sweeping Japan as people of all ages, from young kids to senior citizens, scooped the game up like mad; subsequently causing DS systems to fly off store shelves at record pace. While not quite a phenomenon in America yet, sales certainly indicate that the game is doing well among DS owners.
