Command and Conquer the First Decade (DVD-Rom)EA’s Aaron “Apoc” Kaufman today announced that an official patch, patch 1.01 is available for Command & Conquer: The First Decade! Weighing in at 408 KB, this patch fixes the most pressing issue of missing movies from C&C Covert Operations, Red Alert 1, and the Red Alert expansion packs.

Additionally, EA has officially confirmed that future patches are forthcoming to fix, amongst other things: the missing music tracks, missing/invalid registry entries for C&C and Red Alert 1, and the “Dino Missions” (aka C&C Funpark). For those who can’t wait to fight some Dinos in the Covert Operations, a relatively simple work-around is also available…

In the original C&C’s expansion pack (Covert Operations) there was a bonus easter egg entitled “Fun Park” missions and these were largely a rather funny take on Jurassic Park style dino missions. Thanks to Planet C&C here’s an official way to access these missions in The First Decade without needing to have an original C&C disc.

Creating a shortcut for the game and adding on ‘funpark –cd.’ (without quotes) to the end of the ‘ Target’ will allow the funpark missions to be accessed when the user selects ‘New Game’ from the C&C in game menu. This isn’t that much different from how the missions are accessed with the Original (all the Original needs is the word ‘funpark’). These dino missions can only be accessed with a command line entry on the Original C&C.

The funpark missions can also be accessed by typing the following into the ‘Run’ window if C& C is installed in the default location:
“C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command & Conquer The First Decade\Command & Conquer(tm) \C&C95.exe” funpark –cd
